This high domed cabochon of Stormy Mountain Turquoise has gorgeous patterns. The Stormy Mountain mine is located northeast of Carlin, on the south side of Swales Mountain near the summit. It produces strong blue stones with a blotchy matrix, generally similar in appearance to the turquoise from the Blue Diamond and McGinness Mines. I have used raw copper wire in this woven setting that I oxidized with liver of sulpher then hand polished with renaissance wax.
