This cabochon of Sonora Sunrise is a combination of Chrysocolla, Cuperite and Tenorite. This material is a rarity in nature! A combination of the blue/green of Chrysocolla, the red Cuprite and the black of Tenorite. It creates an explosion of color for those statement pieces of jewelry. This gorgeous gemstone is call Sonora Sunset or Sonora Sunrise. The mostly red cabochons are called Crimson Cuprite. This material was mined in Sonora, Mexico. The mine opened in 2006 and is no longer available.
