This cabochon of Bamboo Fluorite aka Flower Stone has gorgeous color and patterns. It's known for the purple fluorite that crystalized into needle-like sagenite formations that can make striking cabs. As a fluorite, it's quite soft at 4 on the Mohs scale. That makes it easy to cut, and it will still take a fair polish. Fluorite was named after the Latin word, fluere, meaning “to flow,” fluorite is the mineral form of calcium fluoride. It's mined from China.
